The Beginning

 

The official designation of "military chapter" is not formally recognized by the national headquarters of Omega.  It is a generally accepted practice however, to affiliate chapters who have a large contingent of military members with the title  however.

 

May 13, 1998

Brothers Cary Hale, James Hatchel, Alonzo McGhee, James Moody, Roy Sevalia, Michael Snipes, Steve Thomas, Aaron Williams, and Timothy Williams held an informal meeting to discuss the Chartering of a Chapter on Forts McPherson and Gillem, Georgia.

 

June 19, 1998

Twenty-six Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. accepted the challenge and submitted the $300.00 chartering fees to the International Headquarters.

 

July 28, 1998

Brother Cary Hale submitted the application for the Charter to the 7th District Representative, Brother Charles Wilson

 

December 7, 1998

Interim Executive Director, Brother Alonzo Bennett informs Brother Hale, that Chapter # 900, Phi  Kappa Kappa was duly chartered on December 5, 1998.
